The Queens County Farm Museum is one of Queen's most prized historic sites. This farm has been in works since 1697 and upheld its values of service to the local community for decades. Not only has this farm's fresh produce fed new Yorkers for decades, but its timeless attraction has provided many of us, who visited throughout our childhood, with endless memories of experiencing life outside the city.
The Queens County Farm Museum is located on Little Neck Parkway and is accessible via the Q36, Q46, and QM6 busses. Entrance to the farm is free!
Upon arrival, you will encounter the Museum shop and seasonal produced markets. At the shop, visitors can purchase bags of seeds and hay for just $3 to feed select farm animals located around the 47 acre land.
The farm also provides hayrides on some of their larger tractors to provide an exciting tour of the farm landscape. The tickets for these rides are only $5 and can be purchased at the shop. Within this shop there is also a nursery from which you can buy small plants and seeds which are in season. Past the shop you can buy wool, yarn, honey, milk, freshly churned butter, fruits, vegetables, and eggs all sources from the farm (Note: These items are not guaranteed to be available year round). Personally, every time I visit the farm I'm sure to buy some of their in house hot chocolate and a few sticks of honey to compliment my day. What is especially exciting about visiting the farm is their year round events!
In the summer, the farms hosts a carnival open to the public. In the fall, the farm opens their pumpkin patch for people to purchase pumpkins in the spirits of Thanksgiving and Halloween. During this time is also when they open their small corn maze and harvest a variety of crops including squashes, greens, carrots, radishes and more! Throughout the winter and spring the farm is known for its routinely held scavenger hunts, enjoyed both by children and adults.

Apart from these events, the farm also provides educational programs for the public. I encourage you to take a look and sign up for classes when you plan a visit!
Overall, wether you chose to do one of the many activities detailed above or simply visit the farm for a calm stroll, there is no doubt you will enjoy your time there!
